AUGi™ by Inspiren
Fall Prevention At Bay Harbor Of La Crescent
Inspiren AUGi
Independence and Safety, Hand in Hand, Without Cameras in the Room
At Bay Harbor, we understand independence and safety go hand in hand. That’s why we’re proud to offer AUGi™ by Inspiren, an innovative AI-powered fall risk-reduction technology that provides an extra layer of protection while respecting your privacy and dignity.
Meet AUGi
A Discreet Device on the Wall,
Not a Camera in the Room
Bay Harbor is among only a handful of senior living organizations to implement true AI technology.
AUGi not only helps prevent falls but also monitors behavior trends and sleep patterns over time and flags changes, allowing us to identify new issues and refine resident care plans.
How it Works
AUGi is a wall-mounted smart device that uses AI technology to sense your movements. It alerts our care team when there may be a fall risk (like when you are getting out of bed or a chair), or in the event a fall has already occurred. This enables us to immediately respond and provide assistance.
Privacy First, Always
Your privacy is our priority. Unlike traditional cameras, AUGi is a sophisticated HIPAA-compliant technology that never displays or stores clear images. Residents appear as stick figures, apartment details are blurred to ensure privacy, and only authorized care team members get alerted when movement patterns suggest fall risk. Residents can turn on a temporary “virtual curtain” when they want additional privacy.
01
Prevent
Gently recognizes moments that may need a hand — sitting up at the bed edge, an unsteady transfer — and alerts the care team so they can offer support early.
02
Respond
If a resident does take a fall, AUGi senses it and sends an immediate alert — so a caregiver is there to help right away.
03
Learn
Gentle insights into sleep and nighttime activity help our nurses thoughtfully refine each resident’s personalized care plan over time.
Why fall prevention matters
Each year, there are about 3 million emergency-department visits for older-adult falls (CDC, 2023), and one in five falls leads to a more serious injury (NIA, 2022). The good news: thoughtful prevention makes a real difference.
AUGi is one layer within a broader, caring approach — welcoming design, therapy, medication review, and human attention. Technology extends a caregiver’s senses, and a familiar, friendly face is still the one who walks through the door.
